Course content
The Certificate in Exercise for Special Populations is designed for home study through Premier’s Distance Learning programme.

- Cardiac Rehabilitation
- Exercise For Stroke Victims
- Exercising With Osteoporosis
- Exercising With Arthritis
- Exercising With Obesity
- Exercise For Children
- Exercise For The Elderly
- Exercise During Pregnancy
- Case Studies
Assessment:
- Continuous coursework assessment with tutor feedback
- 90 minute exam at one of Premier’s training venues
Entry requirements:
The Certificate in Exercise for Special Populations is an advanced course for established training professionals. Students should therefore be at least 18, with a suitable qualification in exercise or fitness instruction. A qualification in fitness testing is desirable but not essential.
Course duration:
As with any distance learning course, students work at their own pace, however the course must be completed within 2 years. With around 10-12 hours of home study per week, the course typically lasts around 12 months.
