Course content
The Diploma in Stress Management is designed for home study through Premier’s Distance Learning programme.
Diploma modules include:
- Consultation Skills
- Stress, Physiology and Health Hazards
- Stress and Personality Locus of control and ineffective management techniques
- General Stress Management social support and the process of change
- Stability Zones Beliefs, values and laughter therapy
- Relaxation
- Special Skills 1 (Self-esteem and self-talk)
- Special Skills 2 (Goal setting, time management)
- Lifestyle Issues 1 (Smoking and alcohol)
- Lifestyle Issues 2 (Nutrition and exercise)
- Stress at Work
- Case Studies
Assessment:
- Continuous coursework assessment with tutor feedback
- 90 minute exam at one of Premier’s training venues
Entry requirements:
The Diploma in Stress Management can be taken without prior qualifications - but students must be at least 16 with a reasonable level of fitness as well as reading, writing and numeracy skills.
Course duration:
As with any distance learning course, students work at their own pace, however the course must be completed within 2 years. With around 10-12 hours of home study per week, the course typically lasts around 12 months.
