Premier course description:
The Certificate in the Theory of Sports Injuries is a comprehensive study of soft tissue injuries – from cause and assessment to treatment and rehabilitation.

As well as theory, the course has a strong practical edge, bringing sports injuries and joint assessments to life through a DVD tutorial. By the end of the course, Personal Trainers will have the skills to assess sports injuries and recommend treatment.

This certificate leads to:
16 REPs CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points.

Graduates who hold REPS Level 2 & 3 fitness qualifications are also eligible to enter Premier’s Masters in Personal Training.

The Certificate in the Theory of Sports Injuries is designed for home study through Premier’s Distance Learning programme.

Course modules include:

Assessment:

  • Continuous coursework assessment with tutor feedback
  • 90 minute exam at one of Premier’s training venues

Entry requirements:
The Certificate in the Theory of Sports Injuries is an advanced course for established sports training professionals. Students should therefore be at least 16, with a suitable background in health and fitness, including knowledge of exercise prescription, anatomy and physiology.

Course duration:
As with any distance learning course, students work at their own pace, however the course must be completed within 2 years. With around 10-12 hours of home study per week, the course typically lasts around 10 months.
