Course content
The first part of this course includes: the skeletal system, personal qualities in gym induction, neuromuscular system, muscle actions, nutrition, respiratory, circulatory and energy systems, concepts and components of fitness warm-ups and cool-downs, resistance training theory, health and safety, stretching and flexibility theory and practice.
Assessment:
Candidates will sit a multiple choice theory paper on the second Thursday of Part 2
Entry requirements:
No prior qualifications are required however it is highly recommended that students have some experience of group exercise to music. There is also an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and candidates should have basic skills pitched at level 2.
Course duration:
One week. This is the first week of the full time Certificate in Gym Instruction (Cert GI), which can be taken at any Premier Training venue.
