Corrective Exercise for the Management of Common Injuries Course

Introduction
This course provides an understanding of the principles of exercise prescription to aid in the treatment of common injuries/soft tissue dysfunctions and will enable practitioners to effectively prescribe and demonstrate relevant corrective exercises for these conditions. This certification forms part of the Level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy.

Any injury treatment plan should be supplemented and supported by a relevant and progressive programme of corrective exercise. The therapeutic practitioner, whether in a clinical or gym-based setting, needs to possess knowledge of common injury mechanics and be able to apply corrective exercise appropriate to the nature and severity of the presenting injury. This will require the ability to both progress but also regress prescribed exercises to meet the needs and capabilities of any client at any one point in time.
