Course content
Since the abdominals are the conduit for integrated movement patterns in human motion, it is necessary for abdominal training to occur from the standing position and in all three planes of motion. Movement transpires in the frontal, sagittal, and transverse planes and specific movement patterns can achieve this natural occurrence. This approach to training demonstrates that movements used as warm-ups can be modified to become the exercise. If this rationale is applied to activities of daily living, then the exercise can become the activity, while the daily activity then reinforces the exercise.
This course will provide students with an understanding of:
- Functional anatomy of the abdominal musculature.
- The need for strong abdominals in the integration of the lower extremities with the upper extremities in movement.
- The tri-plane motion of the abdominals in human movement.
- The relationship of the abdominals with the spinal and hip stabilizers.
- The ability to develop integrated movement patterns for all demographics, ranging from special populations to elite level athletes.
In this personal, interactive workshop with Chuck, you will experience:
- 1 hour of Audio Visual Presentations, with 46 detailed PowerPoint slides and links to video clips.
- 21 exercise video clips.
- 15 pages of course text you can print and make notes as you listen and watch the presentation.
- The ability to come back and view these AV presentations as many times as you want.
- A multiple choice and true/false CEC/CPD test, which you can retake 4 times, to earn valuable CECs/CPDs and print your Certificate of Completion.
