An Introduction to Pilates
This course will provide an introduction Pilates by teaching the history and the principles of Joseph Pilates’ work. All of the apparatae are presented and the many different methods of Pilates are introduced. A thorough discussion of the basics of human movement and the anatomy of the Pilates Powerhouse is presented. At the end of the course you will experience the Pilates style of breath and learn to find good posture through Pilates visualization and imagery. This will be followed by detailed instruction in several of the key Pilates mat exercises. This course is a great beginning and perfect if you want to be more well-rounded in this mind-body discipline.
