David Cockburn grew up following a strong family sporting heritage, particularly relating to football and athletics. Both David’s parents were county athletes and, from a very early age, David remembers his mother explaining the nutritional benefits of food.
After leaving his last corporate job as a Senior Manager within a major American multinational company in 2001, David signed up for the Premier Diploma at the Milton Keynes venue. He explains, "I looked at all the courses available and without doubt Premier offered me the best, most comprehensive course that would equip me with the very latest skills and knowledge that I wanted."
Since graduating, David has never looked back. His company, Osiris Health & Fitness Ltd, combines David’s deep understanding of large corporations with empathy for the high-pressure demands on today’s employees.
To meet the growing demand of the corporate market, David founded the services of his company on the teaching of Premier’s Diploma in Personal Training. He envisioned that complementary service providers, such as massage, nutrition, exercise, special needs (populations) would need to more closely integrate with company occupational health departments – and that’s precisely what he has done.
Osiris Health and Fitness Ltd manage the wellness centre of large corporations such as Levi Strauss (the Jeans people) and Mars and have been highly successful at offsetting the huge costs associated with employee illness, injury, absenteeism and sometimes litigation. Part of David’s mission is to open new and exciting opportunities for Premier graduates who might otherwise struggle to get into this market.
