Sensational US Power Club Work Out Reaches UK!
Power Clubs are set to revolutionise personal training in the UK thanks to a new course from Premier Training International

Designed by Premier’s top fitness experts, the new Power Club Continuing Professional Development (CPD) qualification will allow personal trainers to become experts in what will be the fitness craze of 2011. Power Clubs are an established force in the US thanks to the work of fitness coaches such as Scott Sonnon. They have their origins in Persia and were adopted by the Indian military. During the occupation of India, British soldiers learned and developed this training method and brought it back to England. Unfortunately interest faltered before the Second World War but now, years later, Premier is restoring it as a valuable training modality in the UK fitness industry.
The reason Power Clubs have been so successful in America is that they can be built into a fitness program which moves away from the slow pace of gym machines and brings back the more dynamic movement and momentum associated with sport and activity. This means they feel more natural to use and are more fun too. Premier view the Power Clubs as the natural heir to the popular Kettlebell training qualification and are arguably even more adaptable as they can improve movement efficiency, burn fat, build muscle, strengthen joints and correct posture.
Power Clubs are suitable for all ages and either sex and, crucially, can be used indoors and outdoors in a wide variety of locations.
Ben Pratt, Research and Development manager at Premier Training International, explains: "We’ve invested significant time and effort in developing our unique and exciting Power Club qualification, taking the best the US had to offer and applying functional human movement principles and exercise programming."
Launching in September at LIW, this one day course will take physical training back to the methods that made the British military truly great, providing a high intensity and varied training regime that offers Personal Trainers and clients a more fulfilling and exciting work out experience.
Ben added: "I fully expect British demand for power club training to reflect what has happened in the US and by this time next year people will have embraced this new training modality and know for themselves it is more fun and brings great results."
