Redhill local Carla Cerosimo wins prestigious Premier Training scholarship
Redhill local Carla Cerosimo has been selected by leading health and fitness training provider, Premier Training International, to win a place on its prestigious Diploma in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training, worth £3450.
The competition was launched earlier this year as part of the company’s nationwide scholarships competition to celebrate 20 years in the industry. People were encouraged to nominate friends, family or loved ones who wanted to re-train or enter the health and fitness industry with a reason why they deserve a place on Premier’s leading course.
Having been nominated by her gym partner and friend Nicola Maral, Carla was one of only 20 nationwide winners selected from over 2000 entries. The competition judges were impressed by the way Carla’s passion for health and fitness has helped her to really make a difference to other people’s lives, making her a truly deserving candidate of a chance to become a fully qualified personal trainer.
Nicola Maral who suffers from MS and is a wheelchair user wrote passionately in her nomination about the ways that Carla has helped her over the past six months. With Carla’s expertise, passion and commitment for health and fitness, Nicola found that she was able to reach her goals to become fitter, stronger and more balanced. Carla has worked with Nicola five times a week since February at the YMCA gym in Redhill and has said that she considers Carla to be ‘an angel’.
On being awarded the scholarship, Carla commented: "It’s brilliant! I was so pleased when I found out that Nicola had nominated me, and touched that she felt I had made a difference to her health. Exercise, fitness and the ways that we can look after our bodies is a true passion of mine, and it really is a fantastic opportunity to be able to train with Premier, and really launch my dream career!"
Victoria Branch, Sales and Marketing Director of Premier Training International, commented: ‘Stories like Carla’s are the very reason that we launched this competition; we wanted to offer a genuine career changing opportunity to those for whom fitness is an absolute passion. Clearly, Carla’s efforts have helped Nicola a great deal, so we are delighted to award her this scholarship diploma - I’m sure this will be the start of a great career in the industry!’
