David Rayner
Careers Advisor
David has a background in professional football, representing Newcastle United and his country of origin New Zealand at the highest level. Soon after his final year of professional football in Australia, David started in the health and fitness industry as a Gym Instructor with BodyTech Fitness and Spa NZ. He quickly established himself in the industry and moved onto Gym Supervisor, Personal Trainer, Fitness Manager and eventually General Manager of one of the most exclusive clubs in Auckland, NZ. He joined Premier in August 2009 as a Careers Advisor and now looks after North East England and Scotland. He enjoys all types of sports and loves the outdoor life – especially on the beach and water. David is a dedicated and motivating individual who strives for further development of himself and others.

Fiona Bell
Lecturer
Fiona has a background in pharmaceuticals. She studied Chemistry at the University of Central Lancashire and went on to work as a Process Chemist after graduation, before switching to a career in the Health and Fitness industry. She joined Premier in 2007 as a Sports Therapy Lecturer and now teaches the Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy. She enjoys the outdoors and one of her major achievements is mountain biking across Tanzania. Fiona is also a qualified Modern Pilates instructor and Personal Trainer. Her overall knowledge and enthusiasm for her work provides an excellent learning environment for students.

Gareth Richmond
Fitness Lecturer
Gareth studied Sport and Exercise Science at St Martin’s College, Lancaster and worked in the security industry prior to switching to a career in the Health and Fitness profession. He completed Premier’s personal training diploma and went on to work in many roles in the industry from personal trainer to duty manager. Gareth joined Premier in 2009 and is a Lecturer based at the Newcastle and Scotland venues. He enjoys strength and conditioning training, rugby league and has a passion to provide quality education and opportunities to students.
