Premier Training International was founded in 1992 by Norman and Jane Basson under its inaugural name of 'Premier Fitness Instructor Training Ltd.'. The company vision was, and remains today, to raise standards throughout the health and fitness industry.
Since 1992, the company has continued to grow and expand, changing its name to 'Premier Training and Development Ltd' and most recently, Premier Training International Ltd. as the service offered, has improved and evolved. In 2001, this was recognised when Premier's Diploma in Personal Training was awarded Level 3 status on the government endorsed, Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs).
In recent years, Premier has diversified its operations and in 2000, launched Premier Distance Learning to satisfy the needs of students wishing to study at home. This division of the company now provides a comprehensive range of CD/DVD-ROM, internet and paper-based courses.
Today, Premier boasts 115 employees. This includes 52 full-time educators and 5 part-time educators. Our product development team draws on the knowledge and experience of all Premier's 57 trainers, who come from a variety of backgrounds, including sports science, massage therapy, osteopathy, physiotherapy, nutrition and exercise psychology.
2008 saw innovative changes at Premier, most notably the inception of an e-learning platform to reflect modern trends in learning. In August 2008 Premier students were able to access the podcasts, webinars and video lectures giving them fresh, exciting 24/7 learning.
